In an “Introductory Knowledge Café” I give a talk about the role of conversation in business; describe the Knowledge Café process and run one.
The intent is to awaken the participants’ interest in the role of conversation in business and to introduce them to the Knowledge Café and how they might apply it in their everyday work.
- Duration: 2 hrs.
- Number of participants: Minimum of 12, Maximum 30.
- I can run the Café for larger numbers of people, but I need to modify the process to do this. This may mean that the value gleaned from the Café may not be quite what it could be. A group of about 24 people works best.
- The room must have small tables that seat 3 or 4 people per table. The tables should be small and round. Small square tables are also acceptable. The tables and chairs must be easy to move.
- The Knowledge Café cannot be run in a lecture theater.
